The Clinical Educator is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the orientation process for all new 4th floor employees as well as the continuing education for established staff. This position will work collaboratively with unit leadership to enhance the quality of patient care, and work to continuously improve both patient and staff experience on the 4th floor, through supporting the foundational aspects of entry into practice, as well as continuing education of experienced staff. The 4th floor Clinical Educator effectively provides and promotes person-centered are, nursing best practices, and staff engagement in a commitment to excellence. Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational and computer skills required.

Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing Education preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in medical/telemetry nursing.
• Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Certification: BLS, ACLS
• Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
