Description of Position/Request Project Coordinator will provide a variety of construction project management tasks and other related responsibilities that are performed on behalf of the medical center. The position will report to the Director of Facility Planning & Construction and interacts with other medical center staff and visitors. The Position will work in coordination with two department Facility Managers to help manage all contractor and in-house projects.
Comments
- The difference from the Project Coordinator to Project Manager involves more in-depth computer skills with Excel and Word programs. The candidate must be well organized and will work with the Director of Facility Planning and Construction to create a unified project filing system that will be used by the Facilities Department.
- The candidate will be able to work independently and responsibly to ensure projects are well communicated, coordinated and planned. Previous construction project management experience is a must. Past work experience in the construction field will also be considered in meeting qualifications for this positon.
- At times the positon may require the candidate to work off hours (weekends & evenings) when necessary to coordinate certain construction projects and certain tasks.
- The candidate that does meet the job qualifications and is hired will work towards achieving their national "CHC" Certified Healthcare Constructor certification within two years from their date of hire.
