The Medical Technologist in Point of Care (POC) is a highly skilled professional who assists with waived and moderate complexity POC testing within the Cayuga Health System. This includes testing equipment, training staff, organizing data, inspecting sites and participating in meetings.

Physical Demands: May require light lifting and carrying, including boxes, equipment, stooping and kneeling, maybe required to lift up to 30 pounds. Repetitive use of hands (eg. computer keyboard usage), sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time is often necessary; must be able physically to operate equipment used in the job. Current driver's license and mode of transportation is required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent).

Licensure: Meets NYS Department of Health requirements and is currently licensed as a Clinical Lab Scientist, and Registered as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.

Experience: Prior laboratory experience, including Point of Care Testing is preferred.
