This position reports to the Director, Strategic Planning at Cayuga Medical Center, with inputs from the Principal Investigator and Rural Health Equity Training Collaborative (RHETC) Committee; general direction is provided with broad leeway permitted for exercise of independent judgment and the execution of the agreed upon policies and programs.

 

Program Description: the purpose of the Rural Health Equity Training Collaborative (RHETC) is to administer a comprehensive, integrated behavioral health training program for primary care residents and nursing students that will improve healthcare equity for the medically underserved. By creating an integrated, multidisciplinary care continuum, the RHETC program will increase value across the community including increased quality, improved provider retention and cost reduction. The vision of the RHETC program is to create an integrated healthcare provider training model that is scalable and will have the potential of informing state and national policy and programming regarding rural populations. The RHETC program will create longitudinal and progressive curriculum for primary care residents, utilizing evidence-based best practices in integrated behavioral healthcare in partnership with REACH Medical and TC3. 

 

Job Summary:   Program Analyst ensures that the RHETC project proceeds within the specified time frame, while achieving its objectives. The PA assists in managing relationships with partners and stakeholders. The PA is responsible for providing analytical expertise, project management and team leadership to facilitate the implementation of the RHETC grant project. This position analyzes data from various internal and external sources, develops visual displays of information, and participate in presentations of analyses and options to the RHETC Committee. The PA also collaborates with colleagues at CHS, REACH, TC3 and other partners to support the project implementation.  

 

Job Responsibilities include:

Data Analysis:

  • Utilizes quantitative and qualitative approaches to compile, analyze and interpret data from a variety of disparate information sources
  • Develops metrics to track program outcomes and progress
  • Creates data collection protocols to ensure consistency in reporting
  • Assists in maintaining and developing new institutional, departmental and accountability dashboards as required for evaluation of the RHETC plan progressProject Coordination                                
  • Responsible for tracking and communicating plan progress for both the system as well as the partners
  • Assists in facilitating appropriate committees relevant to RHETC activities including preparing agendas and minutes
  • Prepares reports for RHETC Program Committee and other training committee for purposes of supporting the evaluation process.
  • Submits budget vouchers and tracks all expenses in accordance with CMC's policy.
  • Initiate and participate in the development and implementation of the institutions directives as they relate to RHETC
  • Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above

Requirements:

  • Education Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance, or Health Services, Masters degree preferred
  • Experience 2 years of relevant work experience required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be skilled at working with and analyzing large sets of data and financial databases
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Communication Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to various audiences, particularly management and executive audiences
  • Ability to use the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of financial data
  • Interest in Health Equity and Harm Reduction
